The 10-Mag Home Load System: Pre-Stage Your Range Day Before You Head Out
Load 10 AR-15 magazines at home in under 5 minutes using the SCUSA SLB Gen2 and StripLULA. Grab and go — zero loading time at the range.
5 Minutes Before You Leave. Zero Loading at the Range.
The best range day is one where you show up and shoot. No fumbling with loose rounds at the bench. No waiting while your mags get loaded one round at a time. Just 10 pre-staged magazines loaded at home before you walk out the door.
With the SCUSA SLB Gen2 and StripLULA, loading 10 magazines before you leave takes under 5 minutes. Here's the exact workflow.
30 clips to load (300 rounds) × ~6 seconds = ~3 minutes with the SLB
30 clips → 10 magazines via StripLULA = ~2 minutes
Total: under 5 minutes for a full 300-round range day
Range loading time: zero
What You Need
- SCUSA SLB Loading Block
- 30 SCUSA Stripper Clips in your chosen color
- Maglula StripLULA Gen II
- 10 AR-15 magazines (empty)
- 300 rounds of 5.56 / .223
- Flat stable surface — kitchen table, workbench, tailgate
Step 1: Load 30 Clips with the SLB Loading Block
Set up the SLB Gen2 on your bench. Work through your ammo in batches — fill the block with 10 rounds, seat a clip, press down, set aside. Repeat 30 times. You'll develop a rhythm fast.
Load 3 clips at a time then set them aside — that's exactly one magazine worth. You'll always know exactly how many magazines you have ready without counting. 10 groups of 3 = 10 mags = 300 rounds.
Step 2: Load 10 Magazines with the StripLULA
Attach the StripLULA to your first empty magazine. Take 3 loaded clips, strip each one down in one press, remove the empty clip. Magazine full — 30 rounds in under 10 seconds. Repeat for all 10 magazines.
Step 3: Mags in the Bag, Walk Out the Door
Loaded magazines go straight into your range bag or mag carrier. Spring tension on a fully loaded magazine for a few hours before your range session causes zero measurable degradation — load up, grab your gear, and go.

Scaling Up — More Rounds, Same System
Want to shoot 500 rounds? Load 17 magazines before you leave. 600 rounds? 20 magazines. The system scales linearly — add clips, add mags, same rate at the SLB Gen2.
| Round Count | Clips Needed | Magazines | Home Prep Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100 rounds | 10 clips | 3–4 mags | ~2 minutes |
| 200 rounds | 20 clips | 6–7 mags | ~3 minutes |
| 300 rounds | 30 clips | 10 mags | ~5 minutes |
| 500 rounds | 50 clips | 17 mags | ~8 minutes |

Is it safe to store loaded magazines for a few hours before shooting?
Yes — loading your mags before heading out causes zero measurable degradation. Military units keep magazines loaded indefinitely. For personal use, rotating mags every few months is good practice but loading before a range session is completely fine.
Do I need the StripLULA or can I hand-load?
You can hand-load from clips using a standard USGI spoon, but it's slower and harder on your thumbs. The StripLULA is a 3-second operation per clip. For a 10-mag session, the difference is about 5 minutes with StripLULA vs 20–30 minutes by hand.
How many clips come in one 30-pack?
30 clips — exactly enough for 300 rounds and 10 fully loaded magazines. One 30-pack covers a standard 300-round range day perfectly.
Can I use different colors for the same range session?
Yes — if you're running M855 and M193 in the same session, use Olive Drab clips for M855 mags and Black clips for M193 mags. You'll always know which magazine has which load without labeling them individually.
