10 Rounds Per Press. That's the SLB Gen2.
Loading stripper clips by hand — one round at a time — takes about 3 minutes per clip. The SLB Gen2 Loading Block does the same job in one press. Ten rounds, properly oriented, loaded onto the clip in under 5 seconds.
This guide covers the full setup: how to orient the rounds, how to use the block, and how to build a loading station that lets you pre-stage hundreds of rounds before a range day or deployment.
- SCUSA SLB Gen2 Loading Block
- SCUSA Polymer 5.56 Stripper Clips (Olive Drab, Black, or Range Orange)
- 5.56 / .223 ammunition — loose rounds
- A flat, stable surface
Watch the SLB Gen2 in Action
Before the step-by-step, watch the full loading demo. This shows exactly how the block works with SCUSA polymer clips:
Step 1: Set Up Your Loading Station
Place the SLB Gen2 on a flat, stable surface — a table, tailgate, or ammo can lid all work. Keep your loose rounds in a container next to the block so you're not reaching across your workspace.
Set out your SCUSA clips in the color that matches your load type:
M855 green-tip · Long range · Steel core
M193 duty · Defensive loads
M193 training · Range days · Bulk ammo
Never mix load types in the same loading session. Load all your Olive Drab clips first, put them away, then switch to Black or Orange. Mixing clips mid-session is how load types get confused in storage.
Step 2: Drop 10 Rounds Into the Block
The SLB Gen2 has 10 round channels arranged in a row. Drop one round into each channel, bullet tip pointing forward — the same direction as the arrow on the block. The rounds should seat flat with the case heads flush.
If a round doesn't drop cleanly, don't force it. Remove it, check the case for dents or deformation, and replace it with a good round.
10 rounds per press · 3 presses per 30-round magazine
1 full magazine = ~15 seconds at the block
10 magazines = ~2.5 minutes · 300 rounds pre-staged
Step 3: Seat the Stripper Clip
Take a SCUSA stripper clip and slide it onto the block guide rail. The clip spine slots into the groove on top of the block. Make sure the clip is fully seated — it should sit flat with no rocking.
The clip guide groove is precision-fitted for SCUSA polymer clips. You'll feel the clip lock into position when it's correctly seated.
Step 4: Press Down — Load the Clip
Place your thumb on the back of the block (not on the rounds) and press the clip down firmly into the block. The rounds strip from the channels and snap onto the clip spine in one motion.
Lift the clip off the guide rail. You now have a fully loaded 10-round stripper clip ready for storage or the StripLULA.
Set up a rhythm: fill the block, seat a clip, press, set aside. Fill the block again before picking up the next clip. You'll load 10 clips (100 rounds) in about 3 minutes once you have the motion down.
Step 5: Store or Load Immediately
Loaded SCUSA clips can go straight into the StripLULA for immediate magazine loading, or into an MTM AC50C ammo can for storage. The polymer construction means they won't corrode in long-term storage — load today, use whenever.

Does the SLB Gen2 work with steel stripper clips?
The SLB Gen2 is designed and optimized for SCUSA polymer stripper clips. It will work with most standard mil-spec steel clips but the fit and function is best with SCUSA clips due to the precision guide rail dimensions.
What calibers does the SLB Gen2 support?
The SLB Gen2 is designed for 5.56 NATO / .223 Remington. It supports both M855 and M193 loads and all standard brass-cased 5.56 ammunition.
Can I use the SLB Gen2 in the field?
Yes. The polymer construction is lightweight and durable enough for field use. It works on any flat surface and doesn't require tools or assembly. Many users keep one in their range bag or go-bag alongside their loaded clips.
How many clips come in a 30-pack?
Each SCUSA 30-pack contains 30 stripper clips — enough to pre-stage 300 rounds (10 full 30-round magazines). The SLB Gen2 loads all 30 clips in about 3 minutes.
